GKN Aerospace, via its central office in Shanghai, has strategic relationships with major partners in the Chinese aviation industry. Fokker Elmo (Langfang) Electrical Systems Co., Ltd. is located in Langfang, Hebei and has been active in China for more than 15 years employing over 1,000 people. The Langfang facility supplies advanced wiring systems and electrical panels and boxes to most of the leading commercial aircraft and aircraft engine programmes worldwide for customers including Airbus, Boeing, Bombardier, P&W and RR.
GKN Powder Metallurgy
GKN Powder Metallurgy comprises GKN Sinter Metals, the world's largest manufacturer of sintered components and GKN Hoeganaes which produces metal powder used in the manufacture of these components.
GKN Sinter Metals currently has two plants in China, located in Danyang and Yizheng, Jiangsu province, with over 500 employees. It manufactures highly engineered and complex sintered products primarily for automotive engine and transmission applications such as VVT parts, synchronizer hubs, and planetary carriers.
GKN Hoeganaes China produces high quality automotive grade powders via its joint venture in Bazhou, Hubei province, GKN Bazhou Powder Metallurgy, serving Asian markets. Hoeganaes China also has a sales centre in Shanghai.
