GKN Sinter Metals, a leading global producer of powder metal components and part of global engineer GKN plc, has won a prestigious General Motors Supplier Quality Excellence Award. This significant achievement means GKN Sinter Metals is within the top 5% of all GM’s European suppliers and within the top 7% of its global suppliers.

The award, received at the 'GM Supplier Quality Excellence' awards ceremony in Rüsselsheim in November, was given to the GKN Sinter Metals plant in Bad Brückenau, one of eight European GKN Sinter Metals locations. GKN Bad Brückenau has provided GM in Strasbourg with a range of clutch plates for automatic transmissions since 2005.

The award recognises GM suppliers who have demonstrated the highest levels of quality performance over the previous 12 months and winners must meet or exceed a stringent set of quality performance criteria along with cross-functional support of the entire GM organisation.

Stefan Zeier, Plant Manager of GKN Sinter Metals Bad Brückenau, says: “We are proud to be honoured by General Motors for Quality Excellence in our plant. Highly qualified and exceptionally dedicated employees, as well as technical leadership, have considerably contributed to this award. We are committed to continuing on this path and making every effort to maintain our top quality production standards and developing our relationship with GM.”
