The new Power Drive universal shaft P 800 was developed specifically for the output range between 250 and 500 HP. Maintenance intervals up to 250 hours.
The Power Drive universal shafts from GKN Walterscheid are well known for the quality of their design and long working life. The Premium series of universal shafts provides optimum performance, high reliability and very simple handling. They were designed specifically for machines which are in continuous use.
At AgConnect, GKN Walterscheid is now presenting the new king in the Power Drive series of universal shafts, the P 800.
This new universal shaft was developed specifically for use in large tractors and is suitable for tractors in the power range from 250 to 500 HP. The P 800 is the first universal shaft to cover this power class for agricultural machines.
The freewheel for this universal shaft was also newly developed; it was adapted especially to meet growing demand for power in this class, such as is required for forest mulchers and wood felling.
With the P 800, the engineers at GKN Walterscheid have succeeded in considerably increasing the power, without increasing the space requirements. The new P 800 has a compatible installation space to the present P 700 and therefore does not need additional extension space.
In addition, the new P 800 has all the advantages of the Power Drive universal shaft series, including its very simple handling. For example, the guard cones can easily be unlocked and pushed back.
The resulting free space simplifies connecting and disconnecting the drive shaft, as well as the maintenance of joints. The integrated internal bracing allows the use of particularly flexible cones, and thus provides increased reliability. Profiled thick-walled protective pipes prevent the two protecting halves from twisting towards each other. With the optional full protection version, there is no need at all for holding chains.
In addition, the new P 800 is integrated into the new GKN Walterscheid ServicePlus system. This system defines maintenance intervals specific to the application. Depending on its location of use, the P 800 has a maintenance interval of up to 250 hours.
