Johnson Controls, a global leader in automotive interiors and electronics, recently honored its top-performing suppliers at the first European Supplier Performance Awards ceremony in Leverkusen, Germany. A total of 16 companies were awarded for their commitment to Johnson Controls Automotive Experience, among them GKN Sinter Metals.
“Our continued success in the automotive market place is dependent on the overall performance of our supply base,” said Terry Nadeau, group vice president, Purchasing for Johnson Controls’ Automotive Experience business. “These awards are important, as they give us an opportunity to thank our suppliers for their leadership and commitment to excellence.”
Johnson Controls presented the 2011 European Supplier Performance Awards for exceptional performance in the key areas: quality, costs, logistics, development, technology and service.
Suppliers were rated in each of these areas according to a points system. With the attained score, the best suppliers were awarded with a gold, silver or bronze Supplier Performance Award from Johnson Controls.
The Gold Supplier Performance Award went to Izo-Blok S.A. from Chorzów, Poland, and Sika Automotive GmbH from Hamburg, Germany. The Silver Supplier Performance Award was given to suppliers Albert Zips Turkey (Ruba Fermuar San A.Ş.) from Manisa, Turkey, Estampaciones Industriales S.A. from Fuenlabrada, Spain, and GKN Sinter Metals from Bruneck, Italy. The Bronze Supplier Performance Award went to Coatex (Poperinge, Belgium), Gumotex a.s. (Břeclav, Czech Republic), Harbort GmbH & Co. KG (Schneverdingen, Germany), Higa s.r.o. (Trenčín, Slovakia) and Rabugino S.P.A. (Grodzisk Maz, Poland).
