Graduate FAQs

  • Once I have applied for a graduate programme vacancy, how long will I have to wait to hear if my application has been successful?

    This will vary, however the recruitment team for the programme you have applied for will aim to get back to you regarding the status of your application as soon as possible.

  • What is the assessment process for each of GKN’s graduate programmes?

    It will depend on the programme you have applied for but could include any of the following; telephone interviews, face-to-face interviews, technical interviews and assessment centres. 

  • Can I apply for more than one of GKN’s graduate programmes?

    Yes, all of our programmes are different so you may apply for as many as you wish. 

  • How can I find out about the status of my application?

    Once you have applied you will automatically receive an email to notify you that your application has been received. As soon as a decision has been made regarding the status of your application, a member of the recruitment team will let you know. 

  • I have a disability, what support will GKN offer me with my application?

  • Do you accept applications from candidates who require a work permit?

    If you require a work permit to be a part of one of our programmes, please contact the hiring manager for the programme that you are applying for. 

  • Does GKN reimburse travel expenses for assessment centres?

    Yes, GKN will reimburse reasonable travel expenses if you are invited to attend an assessment centre. You will receive further details regarding the process for claiming back these expenses in your invitation. 

  • What is the starting salary for GKN’s graduate programmes?

    This varies depending on the programme. GKN offer competitive packages however we believe the main appeal is the opportunities we provide for you to develop your career and achieve your potential.

  • If I’m successful, when will my starting date with GKN be?

    This will vary by programme. You will be notified of start dates during the selection process. 

  • I don’t have an engineering background, can I still apply for a GKN graduate programme?

    Yes, we offer a range of programmes in different functions. Search our programmes to find out more
