Overview

GKN Aerospace is responsible for the complete design, development, manufacture, assembly and certification of a number of turboprop and turbofan solutions including engine build unit (EBU) and podding.

Our turbofan design solution incorporates a lightweight composite design for both the inlet and the fan cowl doors and we have recently developed a one piece composite acoustic liner offering 100% open area to provide maximum acoustic attenuation.

We work in partnership with our customers to explore new turboprop platform technologies to improve cost, weight and sound attenuation as well as meet new icing requirements.

GKN Aerospace has the capability to design and build complete pylon solutions including fairings and are looking at the use of new technologies and manufacturing processes to allow more integrated structures offering additional weight and cost benefits.
