The GKN Aerospace transparencies and aftermarket operations will exhibit at Singapore Air Show later this month. On display will be the full suite of A320 cockpit windows, the cabin window and wingtip lens and the front windscreen for the Boeing 777 as well as a focused display on engine fan blade repair technologies.
GKN Aerospace cockpit windows, windshields, passenger cabin windows and wingtip lenses exceed industry performance benchmarks across the board and are the reliable, low-risk products of choice. The company is supplier to the full range of aircraft in today’s market - from supersonic military applications like the F-35 Lightning II (JSF) canopy to the large-size, state of the art Boeing 787 passenger cabin window.
The GKN Aerospace’s CrystalVue II™ cabin window has been selected for all recently launched commercial aircraft programmes and is standard fit on all Boeing and Embraer aircraft and on all Airbus long range airframes. Well over two million of these market leading, abrasion-resistant, coated windows are in service whilst the company’s proven cockpit windshields provide military and commercial operators with unmatched protection against moisture ingress. This reduces the risk of delamination and electrical system failure that can lead to unscheduled aircraft downtime and premature windshield removal.
In the aero-engine support market, GKN Aerospace holds a broad range of approvals for engine repair covering fan blades, compressor blades, fan disks and cases. The company supports over 180 airlines and jet engine overhaul shops internationally and has pioneered and progressed a number of highly skilled technologies that are improving the quality of the engine repair and reducing future repair requirements.
Mike McCann, Senior VP Business Development and Strategy at GKN Aerospace comments: “As we are all aware, there is considerable growth predicted in passenger and freight traffic across the Asian region. The products we feature on our display are among those we offer that will bring real benefit to Asian operators looking to maximise aircraft performance and safety in service, and minimise downtime.”
