Experience
Joined GKN with the acquisition of the Westland Group in 1994 and has extensive experience of the aerospace industry. Having joined Westland in 1984, he held a number of finance and commercial roles within the business prior to its acquisition by GKN. He was appointed Chief Executive GKN Aerospace Services – Europe in 2000 and Chief Executive Propulsion Systems and Special Products in 2004. Joined the Executive Committee as Chief Executive - Aerospace in January 2006 and assumed responsibility for Land Systems on 1 October 2011.

Experience
Joined GKN in September 2007 as CEO Aerostructures - Europe.with accountability for developing the European aerostructures business. He secured GKN Aerospace’s position on the Airbus A350 XWB programme and led the team handling the acquisition of the Filton wing component and assemblies manufacturing facility from Airbus. He began his career in 1980 as a craft apprentice with Hawker Siddley Dynamics and worked for several years as a fitter then industrial engineer. In 1990 he took a 2 year secondment to the BAe Dynamics Change Team and five years later joined Airbus (Broughton, UK) as Product Unit Manager of their major component centre. In 1998 he was appointed head of operations for the A340-600 and in 2004, plant manager of the Broughton Wing facility. He has a BEng (Hons) in mechanical and production engineering.

Joined GKN in October 2008 as CEO and President Aerostructures - North America responsible for development and growth of GKN Aerospace’s aerostructures business in the region. He joined the company from Alliant Techsystems (ATK) where he had most recently held the position of Executive Vice President & General Manager - Launch Systems. He has over 20 years of experience in the advanced weapon and space systems industry working for both ATK and Hercules Incorporated. He held leadership roles with both companies across programme management, operations, engineering, strategic planning, business development, and corporate development. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in engineering and has an MBA.

Experience
Joined GKN in April 2009 as Vice President, Programmes – Aerostructures, North America. In July 2011 assumed the role of Senior Vice President Business Development and Strategy, joining the GKN Aerospace Executive Committee. He came to GKN from ATK where he held positions of increasing responsibility in business and programme management, business development, operations and across various engineering disciplines. He has worked with a wide variety of prime contractor customers internationally as well as extensively with all branches of the US Department of Defense and NASA. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical & Aerospace Engineering.

Tom Battaglia

Experience
Over a number of years he has held a range of senior positions for GKN’s USA operations. He reports to the CEO on matters related to political, industrial and labour relations and acts as the interface to various US Government Agencies and officials, both elected and appointed. From 1980 to 1985, Battaglia worked for Chrysler Defense and then General Dynamics Land Systems where he was responsible for liaising with various military agencies and Capitol Hill. From 1969 to 1980 he was a US Marine Corps Officer - leaving the Corps after attaining the rank of Major. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree.

He joined GKN from Sequana Capital and has also previously held operations and senior global HR roles with the Metsaliitto Group, Fletcher Challenge and BPB Industries. Plc. Rich Oldfield (38)

Joined GKN Aerospace in July 2009 and is Technology Director with Engineering and Technology responsibility. He joined Airbus where he was part of the Airbus Strategy and Future Programmes organisation. He joined Airbus as an undergraduate in 1993 and spent 6 years in various leadership roles on the design and manufacture of the A380 wings. He was then appointed Deputy Head of Engineering in the Wing Centre of Excellence, responsible for technical integration topics across all Airbus programmes before joining the Strategy and Future Programmes organisation. He holds a Master Degree in Aeronautical Engineering.

Joined GKN Aerospace in 2009 as part of the acquisition of the Airbus wing component and assemblies manufacturing facility, Filton and was General Manager, Filton until February 2012 when he was appointed Vice President Business Development and Strategy, Europe and Special Products. He has played a key role in the successful integration and performance of Filton. His early career in BAE SYSTEMS included time as Chief Production Engineer BAE Filton. His Airbus career included leading A320 Operations and as Programme Director Airbus Twin Aisle programmes. He has an honours degree in mechanical engineering.

Ernie Peake (56)

Joined GKN in 2001 and in September 2006 he was appointed Senior Vice President Commercial for Aerospace and is responsible for all Commercial activities for the business. Prior to this he held the position of Chief Operating Officer, Aerostructures Europe and in this role was responsible for GKN Aerostructures Yeovil site, Munich facility, Engineering Services business and the Airbus & AgustaWestland programmes at the Cowes facility on the Isle of Wight. Ernie has over 30 years of Aerospace experience and, for the last 19 years, has operated within Commercial & Business management, joining GKN in 2001 as Commercial Director. Prior to joining GKN Ernie held a number of senior positions within British Aerospace – Business Director, Hawk; Commercial Director, Aerostructures and Commercial/ Procurement Director, Marine.

Joined GKN in 2006 as CFO, GKN Diversified Businesses Group covering a portfolio of 6 diverse businesses with manufacturing and service focuses, principally in the automotive sector. His responsibilities were both operational and strategic. Prior to joining GKN, he spent 13 years overseas in Switzerland and USA in international roles in the technology and aluminium industries. Latterly he was CFO for Norsk Hydro’s North American aluminium division. He has also held senior positions within BOC Group and Quantum’s data storage and IT hardware business. He qualified as a Chartered Accountant with Deloittes where he also gained experience in international tax.
