GKN Aerospace is the world's No.1 independent supplier of composite aircraft structures.

It is also a leader in the design and manufacture of complex metal alloy structures and special products such as canopy systems, aircraft transparencies and de-icing system. Approximately 60% of the revenues of GKN Aerospace are derived from the defence sector where the business is a supplier of structures and components to a wide range of US military aircraft including the F/A - 18E/F, F/A-22, C-17, F-15 and F-35 as well as European aircraft such as the Eurofighter. It also supplies major structural assemblies for the EH 101, Lynx, NH90 and UH-64 helicopters.

Recent acquisitions have increased GKN’s presence within the civil market where it is a supplier on all Airbus programmes including the new A380 and A400M It is also a supplier to the new Boeing 787 civil programme and to aircraft engine manufacturers such as Rolls Royce, GE and Pratt & Whitney.
